  1. Swift really struggles with large volumes because of the SQLite containers getting too large. Sharding seems overly complex and a huge overhaul, why not just swap out SQLite for a database that is designed to scale like mysql? I have spent months chasing performance issues only to find its the SQLite getting too big

  2. It’s not actually as bad as you think. The SQLite is only for metadata. And server side automatic sharding is coming. It’s what I’ve been working on for a while. We’re just polishing it up.
